Not Fair Game

UP TO 100,000 ‘GAME’ BIRDS ARE SHOT EACH DAY DURING SHOOTING SEASON.

CAN YOU HELP US PUT A STOP TO THIS WIDESPREAD CRUELTY?

In order to keep up with this sickening want of ‘game’ birds, up to 35 million are bred on factory farms. These frightened young birds are then released in the UK to be shot for pleasure.

It’s unnecessary mass slaughter on an industrial scale.

Use the buttons below to look through our interactive gallery which provides some information about the type of beautiful birds that are inhumanely bred and shot for fun here in the UK.

It’s not only ‘game’ birds that are suffering. The artificial management of land used for shooting causes a devastating disruption of the natural balance of species. Illegal stink pits and snares indiscriminately trap and kill foxes, stoats, badgers, even household pets. In fact, a DEFRA field study found that only a quarter of the animals caught were the intended target.

You have helped us save thousands of birds already.

With your support we were able to work with Yorkshire Water in 2019 and secure the safety of thousands of birds. The company leases eleven moors for grouse shooting and has made a ground-breaking pledge to review all licence renewals, effective immediately.

We must continue to deny access to land to commercial shoots. With you beside us, we can continue mounting pressure on major landowners like Yorkshire Water and save potentially millions more ‘game’ birds and other wildlife.
